Mailing Tax Payments

Tax payments by mail, make checks payable to – Village of Blue Mounds, and mail to Village of Blue Mounds, P.O. Box 189, Blue Mounds, WI 53517.  If mailing your tax payment, please include the bottom portion of the tax bill.  If you would like a receipt, please include a self addressed, stamped envelope, and we will mail a receipt to you.  Payments received by 2:00 p.m. on December 31 will be applied the same year.  Payments received after 2:00 p.m. will be applied in the following year.

Tax Payments in Drop Box are allowed.

Any tax payments that require a refund will be issued during the following month.

Second Installment Payment

Statement of Personal Property Help

Every person, firm or corporation operating a business within the Village of Blue Mounds must file a Statement of Personal Property (Form PA-003) with the Villages Assessor’s Office each year on or before March 1. 

The Village Assessor’s Office sends a Statement of Personal Property form to each business owner that has an established account from the preceding year.  These Statements are typically mailed during the last week of December or first week of January each winter. 

New business owners who do not have an existing account should contact the Village Assessor’s Office to establish a new account or simply submit a Statement of Personal Property on their own by the March 1st deadline.  

Businesses that do not file a Statement of Personal Property with the Village of Blue Mounds Assessor’s Office shall be denied any right of abatement by the Board of Review. 

Completed Statement of Personal Property forms are confidential and are not available for public inspection.

Property Tax Exemption Request

All real property and business personal property is assessable in the State of Wisconsin unless specifically exempted by state law.  (s. 70.11, Stats.)

Property owners seeking an exemption from property taxes must file a Property Tax Exemption Request (Form PR-230) with the local Assessor’s Office of the taxation district in which the property is located.  The completed form and any attachments must be filed on or before March 1 to be eligible for an exemption for the current assessment year.

Wisconsin Statutes require completion of this form – in its entirety – to be eligible for exemption from the Wisconsin property tax.  Failure to do so may result in denial of exemption.

Tax Exemption Report

All owners of exempt property in the Village of Blue Mounds (as defined in s. 70.11 Stats.) must file a Tax Exemption Report (Form PC-220) or a Multi-Parcel Tax Exemption Report (Form PC-220A) during each even-numbered year.  This form should be completed by the property owner or representative and filed with the Village Clerk by March 31.

Exempt property owners are required to report any changes in the ownership or use of the property to the Village Assessor’s Office the year of the change.

*The Village Clerks Office processes the initial mailing of these forms to our recorded ‘Exempt Other’ and ‘Taxed-In-Part’ property owners, as well as handling the processing and recording of returned Reports.
